    Answer: 18

    36 = 18 × 2 and 54 = 18 × 3, and nothing larger than 18 divides both.

  2. What is the smallest common multiple of 6 and 8?

    Answer: 24

    Multiples of 6: 6, 12, 18, 24. Multiples of 8: 8, 16, 24. The first they share is 24.

    Answer: 29

    29 can only be divided by 1 and itself, so it is prime.

  4. Which of these is NOT a prime number?

    Answer: 51

    51 = 3 × 17, so it has more than two factors and is not prime.

    Answer: 12

    The sets must divide both 60 and 48. Their greatest common factor is 12.
